Summer aperitif 2023

We rather had the sun in our hearts during our excursion on May 9, because right on time with our arrival at Zurich's main train station it started to rain and was not supposed to stop during the evening.

Of course, this didn't bother us during our little architectural tour through Zurich's university district, where we wanted to take a look at the latest projects of our client Itten+Brechbühl.

The historic Polybahn took us almost to the door of the Student Project House. The listed former district heating plant is now used by ETHZ as a creative ideas and experimentation space for students. We took a brief look at the newly renovated, bright hall of the machine laboratory, where robotics will soon move in.

The tour continued through the campus of the University Hospital Zurich - past the facade renovation of the hospital building Nord2 - to the recently completed temporary sports hall Gloriarank. The temporary wooden building will be used by the Academic Sports Association and the secondary schools for ten years starting this month. Right away, we tried out artist San Keller's installation and threw balls into a basketball hoop hung overhead, along with other guests who had come to the Art on Building inauguration.

Saturated by architecture and art, we went to the Italian aperitif, which then brought the summer mood after all.

More insights.
